“Even the smallest one can change the world.”

BEATRIX POTTER

The Smallest Little Farm is a 501C-3 non-profit focused on deepening our connection with animals and the natural world.

Our story

The Smallest Little Farm was founded in 2021 after I took my children to a local shelter in the hopes of adopting a guinea pig for our family. Once at the shelter it was hard to ignore the countless number of animals needing a home. For me it was a wake-up call and the beginning of our journey.

In today's culture, I have noticed that many of us seem to be losing our connection with animals, who have sadly become part of a throwaway culture that only celebrates the new. Animals, as sentient beings with feelings, deserve our respect and attention. When we remain disconnected and do not interact with them, we fail to honor their inherent value.

Understanding the responsibility and care animals require is crucial. Our mission is to rebuild this connection through meaningful content and advocacy. By being present and attentive, we can make positive changes and restore the bond between humans and animals.

Advocacy

Community

Building a movement of compassionate people who believe the smallest among us deserve the same amount of dignity, respect, and care.

Social Content

What began as sharing the everyday lives of rescued animals on Instagram has slowly become a space where people could reconnect — not just with animals, but with compassion, presence, and the world around them.

My Friend Mabel

A Feature Documentary (in production)

My Friend Mabel began after an adopted guinea pig named Mabel opened the door to a much deeper journey, one that challenged the way we viewed animals, our connection and consumerism. Through caring for Mabel, Jade began to question the systems that treat living beings as products, while also discovering the profound emotional intelligence and presence of all beings. All that is asked of us is to slow down in a world which is speeding up in all areas of life.

Mabel’s Act

Turning Stories Into Change

Named in honor of Mabel, Mabel’s Act is a proposed expansion of California’s existing protections for animals sold in pet stores, aiming to include small mammals and birds often overlooked within the commercial pet trade. The bill seeks to raise awareness around the breeding, treatment, and sale of these animals while encouraging a more compassionate and responsible approach to animal welfare. At its heart, Mabel’s Act represents the belief that even the smallest among us deserve dignity, protection, and care.
